Item 3 Actions from Previous Minutes
Minutes circulated and accepted as a true record. JH proposed all in Favour.

J.Hart Regarding Junior Novice Championships – should be 0 – 10 bouts not from 2 bouts. Proposed J.Hart to raise at North West Counties seconded Y.Hussain.
All agreed
ACTION: K.Williams to raise the matter at the next North West Counties meeting which has been postponed to 20th November.
Matter needs to be raised at NWC AGM. COMPLETED

CONTINUING ACTION: KW to liaise with the legal advisor for the Division and ask for clarity regarding the subject of Insurance from a qualified expert.

Item 4 Matters arising from minutes

P.Angus requested that a card and a gift be sent to J.Taylor from the Division for his recent ill health. All agreed.
RB has also sent a card and gift to E.Peate who is also ill.

Both Stalybridge Coaches C.Stanley and A.Cesay are no longer associated with the Club.
Letter to go to Bobby Rimmer that the Club is still being monitored.

Proposed a letter be sent to the ABA nominating Mrs P. Richardson for the Female Commission.

YH stated that he visited Marsh Lane Community Centre and would recommend the Centre for a Club to be based there. We have received no correspondence from them since.

Item 5 Championships

In future the rule is to be upheld that Boxers pulled from Championships without sufficient reason will be fined.

Henceforth closing dates for entries are to be upheld however late entries will be accepted at the weigh in. All agreed.

Isle of Man Clubs can weigh in for Championships over there and phone or email details of entrants through to KW.

GOLDEN GLOVES CHAMPIONSHIPS

A minor class 1996 Boxers is being run throughout most associations.
We are doing the same.

1996 Boxers using the weight categories from CLASS 1 can weigh in on Wednesday 16th using the Golden Gloves entry forms and an entry fee of £5.

Welcome given to Mark Liptrot, Bolton Boxing Development Officer.

Please note that the Manchester Evening News is having a weekly Tuesday night column on Amateur Boxing. All Clubs are asked to send any news worthy articles to Mike Bradley. (07703 821025). We really have to push this column in order for it to grow.

Item 6 Disciplinary Committee
Nothing to report.

Item 7 Correspondence
None to report.

Item 8 Honorary Treasurers Report
Verbal report given. Division solvent. Discussion regarding a donation from Bolton Lads Club show. Voted we ask for a donation. All in favour.

Item 9 Boxing Development
Tameside Boxing Development Group account now opened. The Job Description and Person Specification is to be approved along with a Service Level agreement before the post can be advertised for a Tameside Strategic Boxing Development Officer.

JH spoke about the English selection squad and 14 Juniors and 12 Seniors from our Division have been nominated.

Successful squad sessions were held at Currock House and Penrith.
Letters of thanks to be sent to them for their assistance.

Open invitation to attend squads 6-8pm Tuesday and Thursday and 10am to 1pm Sundays. Tonge Moor Leisure Centre, Castle Hill Centre, Tong Moor Road, Bolton.
Also a squad session will be held at Sandygate ABC on the 10th Feb, 10am to 1pm. Contact John Hart for further details. (07889 255371).

Item 10 CRB
WN not present to give a report.

MJ raised the point about 5 Coaches from Hamer ABC who have been waiting for months to get CRB clearance. Consequently they cannot Coach.

A Letter was read out from Barry Jones stating the importance of Regional Registrars not registering any Coaches who are not CRB checked and cleared.

A second letter from Barry Jones was read out stating that ALL Clubs are required to have a Club Welfare Officer who needs to be trained in “Safeguarding and Protecting Children”.

ACTION KW To obtain a list of all Club’s nominated Welfare Officer and the date they attended the “Safeguarding and Protecting Children” Course along with details of the organisation they qualified with.

Can all Clubs forward this information to me.


Steve Kendal from Penrith has asked W.Nedley to follow up his appeal for his CRB clearance. The process is currently taking several months.

Item 11 ABAE Business

P. Angus spoke about officials involved in unlicensed Boxing in London. Request pass to NWC plus a letter to London and demand a reply with details of what was done by the ABA. All in Favour.

Would all of our Divisional members please note that anyone fouling this matter (Unlicensed Boxing) will face disciplinary action.

Item 12 Trianing and Selection Committee

Senior Squad session at Sandygate 10am to 1pm on 2nd February. Contact John Hart if interested to confirm the date and venue. 07889 255371.

Item 13 Adjudication

A R and Js meeting will take place on 24th January at Castle Hill, Bolton. All Officials welcome. 7pm – 8pm Contact John Hart for information.

Once again the Division is appealing for people to come forward who want to train to be a referee.

At the recent R & Js Commission meeting a letter was read out by Ray Black stating that JH can only become the Adjudicator for East Lancs if he gives up Judging and Refereeing. A discussion took place.

Item 15 Affiliations

Amir Khan’s Club Gloves ABC will be affiliated once they have submitted CRB checks for Coaches and have put Coaches forward for the next Assistant Coaching Course.
